On the first Thursday of each month, we bring you an update on Wake Forest’s space planning efforts:

  • The design phase of Alumni Hall continues and is going well. It is anticipated that construction will be completed by Summer 2026. Moves for the departments of Computer Science, Education, Philosophy and the Entrepreneurship program will likely take place in Summer 2026.
  • With the near-term portion of our space planning efforts well underway, we will soon be turning our attention to broader space planning:
    • Wake Forest’s design partners, Ayers Saint Gross, will be engaging students in a student-focused How Wake Works Space Planning presentation (similar to what faculty and staff participated in back in November 2024) on February 18 to seek feedback on student priorities for campus spaces.
    • The project team is planning the next phase of campus engagement. The first Bicentennial Comprehensive Campus Space Plan (BCCSP) Workshop will occur on February 17 and 18. Students, faculty, and staff serving on the Advisory Group, Working Groups, and select Listening Sessions will meet to begin providing feedback on understanding key issues for the future. Over the coming weeks and months, additional information will be shared on spaceplanning.wfu.edu.
    • By late spring, the project team will turn its attention to the reuse of the space that will be vacated by the departments moving to Alumni Hall, as well as the redesign of Benson for academic space. More details to come as that portion of the project begins work in earnest.
