March 6 Update (Faculty and Staff)
Space Planning Update: On the first Thursday of each month, we bring you an update on Wake Forest’s space planning efforts:
- Alumni Hall: The design phase of Alumni Hall continues to progress with construction anticipated to be completed by the summer of 2026, pending Board of Trustee approval for construction funding.
- Other Departmental Moves: A collaborative governance process is being developed to help determine how to account for space vacancies going forward and specifically to accommodate both short-term and long-term needs of departments remaining in Manchester, Kirby, and Tribble. The College and academic units will partner closely with Facilities to inform and navigate this transition. Impacted departments will be contacted directly later this semester with more information about this process.
- New Student Center: Manchester-Pruitt is the recommended location for the new Student Center. It is central to campus, has important synergies with the Wellbeing Center, and is proximate to the College and the Business and other professional schools.
- Virtual Outreach Session: Staff, faculty, and students will have opportunities to learn more about the Bicentennial Comprehensive Campus Space Planning process and share feedback that will help shape the future of Wake Forest at an upcoming Virtual Outreach Session. Sessions are tentatively scheduled for the end of March and April; exact dates TBD.
- The Grounds: The revitalization of Upper Silas Creek has officially started and will result in the planting of more than 200 new trees and 30,000 native shrubs, grasses, ground covers, and perennials. Stay up-to-date on this project at visitthegrounds.com and follow @visitthegrounds on Instagram.
